Die kerswaskinders

Lank, lank gelede, was daar 'n gelukkige gesin.
Hulle het nooit met mekaar baklei nie. Die kinders het hul ouers in die huis en op die lande gehelp.
Maar daar was een probleem, hulle kon nie naby 'n vuur of in die son kom nie.
Hulle moes al hul werk in die nag doen.
Want hulle was van kerswas gemaak!
Een van die seuns wou baie graag in die sonlig uitgaan.
Op ʼn dag het hy te veel na die son verlang. Sy broer en suster het hom gewaarsku.
Maar dit was te laat. Hy het in die warm son gesmelt.
Die kerswaskinders was baie hartseer om te sien hoe hul boetie wegsmelt.
Hulle maak toe 'n plan. Uit die gesmelte was vorm hulle 'n pragtige voël.
Hulle neem die voël na 'n hoë berg.
En toe die son opkom, het die voël al singende weggevlieg.
