Long, long time ago there were three girls. Their names were T'soanelo, Relebohile & Lineo. They left to fetch firewood close by to their village. They tied it & carried it on their heads.

Because it was very hot that day, they chose to go swimming in a river nearby. They arrived there, & put their firewood down, removed their clothes & went into the water.

They were so happy, that they were not aware that time had passed by & the sun had gone down. When they realised this, they rushed to put on their clothes & the firewood, to rush home.

She realises that she left it by the river. She asks Lineo &Relebohile to go back with her to look for the necklace.

When T'soanelo arrived at the river, she found her necklace on the rock that she had left it on. She took it, & left to go home. Because it was dark, T'soanelo got lost.

As T'soanelo was walking in the dark, she sees a light appearing from afar. She followed the light until she realised that its a hut sitting on its own. She went there immediately.

Aoo Tsóanelo oaa batho ka ho tsóha o oa lumela. When T'soanelo arrived at the hut, she knocked on the door. As she was waiting, a dog appeared behind the door. It said to T'soanelo, "What do you want at this time of the night?"T'soanelo was overcome with fear & she replied to the dog & said, "Sorry, I am lost." The dog replied, "Come inside immediately." T'soanelo, overcome with fear, agreed to go inside.

Eaba Tsóanelo o re ho ntja "ha ke so phehele ntja bophelong ba ka ebile ha ke tsebe hor na ke tla pheha lijo tse joang." Eaba ntja e re ho Tsóanelo "ha u sa mphehele ke tlo u loma." Tsóanelo ka ho jeoa ke letsoalo a be a qala ho pheha. The dog said to T'soanelo, "l want you to cook for me, I have not eaten the whole day." T'soanelo replied, "I havenever cooked food for a dog before & I dont know what kind of food to cook for a dog. Then the dog said to T'soanelo, " if you don't cook for me, I am going to bite you." T'soanelo, overcome with fear, started to cook."

Ntja ea araba ea re "ha u sa etse joalo ke tlo u loma." Eaba Tsóanelo o oa alola ka letsoalo. As soon as the dog finished eating, it said to T'soanelo, "Fix my bed, so I can sleep." T'soanelo replied, "I don't know how to fix a bed for a dog, I have never done it before." The dog replied, "If you dont do it, I will bite you." T'soanelo makes the bed, in fear.

The dog, seeing T'soanelo's fear, put a rule that everyday, she must make a plan to come & clean, wash clothes & the dishes, & she must make sure that the clothes have been ironed.

Whne the dog left, T'soanelo took out 3 strands of her hair. She took the first strand & put it under the bed, the other one, she put behind the door. The last one, she put under the fence in the garden, & after that she ran away from her village.

Ntja ea pheta hape ea re "Tso'oanelo o hokae?" eaba lentsoe le leng hape le araba le re "ke nna enoa ka morao ho lemati." Nttja joale ea halefa le ho feta ea hoeletsa haholo ea re "Ts'oanelo o hokae?" eaba lentsoe la ho qetela lea araba le re "ke nna enoa ka tlasa terata ea jarete." Eaba ntja e sala e halifile le ho feta. When the dog arrived in the house, it shouted, "Ts'oanelo where are you"? Then a voice from under the bed replied, "Here I am." The dog repeated, "Ts'oanelo where are you"? Another voice replied, "Here I am, behind the door." The dog got angry & shouted, "Tsóanelo, where are you, then the last voice replied & said, "here I am, under the fence, in the garden." Then the dog got more angry."

The dog, in anger realises that Tsóanelo has tricked it. It runs to Tsóanelo's village, to fetch her. When it arrives at the village, it finds Tsóanelo's brothers, Liteboho, Nepo & Lebohang holding sticks. They chased the dog with the sticks. Thats when the dog ran for good, & left Ts; oanelo alone until today.
