“We plant vegetables so that we can eat healthy food,” says Naka.

“Growing our own vegetables can also save us money,” adds Nala.

“What were you saying about the earth? Tell me more?” asks Nala.

Naka says, “Let’s sit, and I’ll tell you about our earth.”

Naka begins, “The earth is the round planet on which we live.

About eight billion people live here! The earth moves around the sun.”

“The earth is made of land, air, and water.

Our planet is boiling hot inside. Living things live on the earth's surface,” explains Naka.

Nala interrupts, “Why don’t we fall off the earth?”

“The force of gravity holds us here. This force pulls us towards the planet,” answers Naka.

“How can we take care of the earth?” asks Nala.

Naka replies, “We shouldn’t pollute the earth. We should reduce our waste and recycle it.”

Naka continues, “We should recycle plastic, paper, glass, and cans.

It’s possible to make new things from recycled materials. We throw away too many things.”

Naka concludes, “We have to take care of the earth because humans need it to stay alive.”
